 BATESVILLE, IN
On December 29, 2016, Connor Amos was lifelined to the UC Medical Center after his pick-up truck collided with a semi on State Road 129 just North of 48. He struck the rear axle of a semi and was trapped inside of his truck for about an hour before firefighters were able to free him.
Connor suffers from multiple bone fractures; including his ankle, hip, pelvis, ribs, chest, arm, jaw and multiple other facial fractures. He has multiple external lacerations. His spleen and liver were also lacerated in the accident.  Connor's lungs were partially collapsed and he suffers from a severe contusion to the right lung.
Currently, Connor is intubated and on ventilation. Due to the severity of his injuries, we have been told that once he is released from the SICU, he will remain on bed rest for at-least 3-4 months and there will be months of rehabitilitation to follow.
ALL funds will be entrusted to his parents, Mike and Libby Amos, to assist with medical care and expenses, as well as all future care that is required during Connor's recovery.
Your loving support is greatly appreciated. Thank You.
Sincerely,
The Family of Connor Amos

As of yesterday, January 10, Connor was officially released from the hospital! He will have regular visits with therapy and a home care nurse will regularly visit as well to check his blood levels. Neither leg is able to bear weight and his right arm is also unable to be used until after his second surgery in a few months. Hopefully, sometime within the next 2-3 weeks Connor will also be able to eat solid food again. Having his jaw wired shut is a struggle (to say the least) and he has lost quite a bit of weight. Despite everything that has happened within the last few weeks Connor's spirit remains high. He has been talking about his future and all of his goals. Not only his goals for after recovery but also his personal goals during recovery.
Our family truly believes that without all of the love and support that we have received Connor would not be where he is today. His recovery is nothing short of a miracle.
Thank you to those of you that have personally reached out to help our family during this time. We appreciate all of your prayers and positive thoughts. Please continue sending them our way. There is no way that we can ever thank each and every one of you enough. We hope that you all know how important your support has and will continue to be.
Connor is stubborn. Anyone that knows him can attest to that... and it appears that next few months might provide some of the most rewarding and challenging days of his life. That being said... he is going to need all of our support now more than ever.
As always, continued prayers and positive thoughts are need. I will continue to update you all during his recovery process.

Look at this stud! Connor had his feeding tube removed today and is now able to drink/eat anything liquid! This photo is nearly unbelievable. Just over a week ago we weren't sure whether or not Connor would even survive after sustaining such traumatic injuries... and now we are speaking with his doctors and therapists about his discharge from the hospital all together!
He has a VERY long road ahead of him. His rehabilitation sounds like it will be everything but easy. Connor is very committed to staying strong. Please continue to send prayers and positive thoughts his way. He's going to need all of the mental, emotional and physical support that he can get. Thank you all so much for your loving support and all of your prayers/positive thoughts. This season of our lives is far from over but without all of the support and love that our family has received we would not have made it this far. I'll be sure to update again soon!

Yesterday was a big day for Connor and for us! He did great during his first visit from therapy and was even able to sit up in a chair like position on the side of his bed!
Yesterday evening Connor was finally taken back for surgery. He now has a plate in his right wrist to keep it stable. In 2-3 months he need surgery again. At that time they will replace the current plate with a smaller one so that he is able to bend his wrist again. This is his dominant hand. We are hopeful that with surgery and much therapy that he will regain full mobility.
Thankfully, he was also able to be extubated after surgery. This was a concern since his right lung has continued to fill up with junk. Pneumonia definitely hasn't helped his lungs to recover. Connor's jaw was rewired shut following surgery. His deep breathing and efforts to cough have continued to improve and his arterial and central line were both pulled as of this morning!
His medical team is pleased that he is showing so many quick and positive signs of recovery.
Connor is working VERY hard to do everything that he is asked to do. I know that all of the continued prayers and positive thoughts are assisting him with that. Thank you all so much for your loving support.
I am amazed by the selflessness and the beauty of other that I have witnessed within this past week. Complete strangers have reached out to pray with and for us all. That kind of love and support is absolutely priceless and our family couldn't possible thank you all enough.
As always, continued prayers and positive thoughts are need. Rehabilitation is a wonderful word and we are blessed that it is in his future after such terrible trauma.
I will continue to update as things change. Thank you again for all of your continued love and support!

As of today, Connor is officially off of the ventilator and no longer sedated! Please continue to send prayers and positive thoughts his way! This is a huge step in his recovery and we are feeling VERY positive and hopeful today. Every second, minute, hour or day that passes without his health declining is an absolute blessing.
Connor is currently scheduled for wrist surgery and to have his jaw wired shut again tomorrow morning.
Thank you all so much for your continued thoughts, prayers and support. I'll update you all again soon.
