Our Mission Is To Make Every Moment Count.

Our Hospice of South Central Indiana is a not-for-profit community-based organization. Since 1980 Our Hospice has served communities in southern Indiana.

Three offices located in Columbus, Greensburg, and North Vernon cover a 16 county area. We provide a family-centered team approach to help people with a life-limiting illness manage their symptoms, live fully and keep control over their lives.

The Our Hospice organization’s primary purpose is to provide quality, compassionate care to individuals with an advanced illness and their families. Our Hospice provides comfort care focusing on the relief of pain and symptoms related to a disease process. Our Hospice addresses the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of individuals and promotes the highest degree of comfort, peace and dignity.

Our Hospice services are provided wherever the patient is….

  • Home
  • Our Hospice Inpatient Facility
  • Assisted Living Facility
  • Nursing Home
  • Hospital

Our Hospice of South Central Indiana affirms life. We recognize dying as a normal process whether or not resulting from disease. Our Hospice neither hastens nor postpones death. Our Hospice exists in the hope and belief that, through appropriate care and the promotion of a caring community sensitive to their needs, patients and families may be free to attain a degree of mental and spiritual preparation for death that is satisfactory to them.

Individuals with a disease that cannot be cured and whose life expectancy can be expressed in months, weeks, or days.

Hospice has an expertise in providing care to individuals with an advanced illness such as:

  • Cancer
  • Lung
  • Heart
  • Liver
  • AIDS
  • Neurological Disorders (e.g., ALS)
  • Kidney
  • Diabetes
  • Stroke
  • Alzheimers
An important factor contributing to the growth of Hospice programs nationwide is that the concept of Hospice care has become widely recognized as an integral part of the health care system. In the early years, Hospice care was most closely associated with cancer patients. While cancer patients still account for a majority of the patients served, an increasing number of patients with other advanced illnesses are cared for by Hospice. Our Hospice is the expert not-for-profit organization specializing in end-of-life care and in the management of pain and related symptoms, regardless of the patient’s diagnosis.

While the focus of Our Hospice is to provide care in the home, for some patients this is not always possible. The Hospice Inpatient Facility, located in the Hospice Center in Columbus, Indiana, is for those patients who need special care to manage an episode of acute pain or symptoms or patients whose family and/or caregiver may need a short break from caring for the patient. The facility offers a comfortable, homelike setting that is an alternative to a hospital, an assisted living or nursing facility. The Hospice Inpatient Facility is a licensed acute care facility for Our Hospice patients.
