Zachary Lee Zins passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at the age of 19. He was born on February 20, 2001 in his hometown of Batesville to parents Jerry and Kathy (Meyer) Zins. He was a 2019 graduate of Batesville High School.
Zach was known as the family jokester. His goal was to make everyone laugh any opportunity he had. He was an avid lover of video games and enjoyed playing with his friends online often. Zach was an extremely creative individual. He was voted “Most Artistic” in his graduating class. He expressed his artistic abilities and creativity through his many drawings and animations. Zach also had passions for voice acting and video editing and used his skills when creating for his You Tube channel.
He is survived by his parents Jerry and Kathy of Batesville; maternal grandparents Mildred and Melvin Meyer of New Alsace; paternal grandfather Howard Zins of Batesville; siblings Dustin Zins of Indianapolis, Olivia (Doug) Green of Speedway; Jenny Zins and Rachel Zins, both of Batesville; nephew Emmett Green of Speedway as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be Monday, October 5th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home. The current Governor’s mandate requires all attendees wear a facemask and observe physical distancing. The mask must cover the individual’s nose and mouth at all times. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stan Pondo officiating and burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Community Mental Health Foundation for Suicide Prevention Support in conjunction with the National Suicide Prevention Hotline.
