WRBI, 5 Oaks team up for Giant Veggie Contest

Batesville, IN — WRBI and 5 Oaks Garden Center in Batesville teamed up this year for the Giant Veggie Contest.

Tony and Teresa Veldhaus’ cabbage weighed in at 13 pounds, while Eric Volz had the big ear of corn at one pound, two ounces.

A big tomato raised by Chris Reynolds weighed in at 2.9 ounces, while a squash raised by Zach Martin came in at 12 3/4 pounds.

5 Oaks co-owner Matt Nobbe says no one entered the beets competition this year.

All of the winners will receive a gift certificate to 5 Oaks.
