Batesville’s Historic Boutique Destination Gets a New Name:
The Sherman House has been renamed to The Sherman to commemorate complete renovations and the reopening of this historic destination in 2017.
Renovations beginning in the summer of 2016 updated the restaurant, meeting space, and the 22 hotel rooms and added the Black Forest bar.
After 165 years,
it was time for a change.
Renaming The Sherman emphasizes that the current renovations are the most comprehensive since 1953 and are intended to honor the 165-year history of the establishment while providing all the amenities that contemporary visitors expect from discriminating boutique venues.
A place for the present
and the next generation.
Everything about The Sherman has been modernized making it ready for another century of entertaining. The extensive renovations to the original two-story Sherman House will be celebrated by previous visitors and establishes it as a venue for the next generation of visitors.
