 BATESVILLE, IN
A fire broke out Monday morning, Feb 6 around 9am at a small row of apartments, displacing 9 families and sending at least one boy to the hospital by air. Money is being raised for the benefit of all the families affected, now homeless with very little to no possessions. This fund is used for what he insurance company will not cover and will help get the families on their feet after this tragic event.
As of Feb 8 items still needed: nonperishable food items; men’s and women’s toiletries; baby supplies, food, wipes and diapers; laundry supplies; paper plates and napkins; plastic utensils and cups; luggage; and duffle bags.
Monetary donations are still being accepted through GoFundMe, the City of Batesville, and MainSource Bank in Batesville.

Thank you all for your support and donations. After this weekend, this account will close but the checking account at MainSource Bank in Batesville will still be open to accept donations for the victims of the Feb 6 fire in Batesville.
Please look on the Batesville Area Resource Center facebook page for updates on specific items needed as we are made aware of them. At this time, families are still working to secure housing and will have a better idea of need once moved in.
THANK YOU ALL!!!

Thank you to everyone who shared this need and who was able to contribute to raising funds for the families affected.

As you may know, a bank account was also set up for these victims and Sister Marge Wassman was added to the account and will be conducting the withdrawal of funds from this GoFundMe. Once all the funds are together, she will issue checks to the families directly. Since there are multiple beneficiaries of these funds, Sister Marge will be added as the beneficiary so she can transfer the funds to the bank account. Thank you again, all of you, for your support.

There is a confusing statement in a news article about the involvement of Batesville Area Resource Center.... I am the Board President for BARC and shared this fund both on my personal FB and on the BARC page. 100% of ALL donations received is going directly to the families affected by the fire. No funds will be used for donations to BARC or the Food Pantry.
