Winter Storm Warning issued from Midnight Wednesday through Friday morning

SOUTHEASTERN IN — All of Southeastern Indiana is under a Winter Storm Warning from Midnight tonight until 7 am Friday.

Heavy mixed precipitation is expected, with several inches of snow and sleet accumulations plus ice accumulations of two tenths to one-quarter of an inch

Wind gusts as high as 35 mph are also expected.

Forecasters say power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice, and travel could be nearly impossible.

The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes Thursday and the Friday morning commute.

In addition, wind chills will likely fall below zero Friday night into Saturday morning.

If you must travel, you’re urged to keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
