
Bill graduated from Greensburg High School in 1950 and started an apprenticeship as a bricklayer that year. He was employed as a brick mason for over 50 years, many years being spent with Bruns-Gutzwiller Construction. Bill and Peggy moved to Wisconsin in 1977 and returned to Indiana in 2002. Bill loved the wilderness, fishing, hunting, camping, and teaching the grandchildren all about the outdoors. He enjoyed making maple syrup for many years in Wisconsin.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, a brother, Arthur Hash, three daughters, Mrs. Ruthanna (Robert) Schimmelpfennig, Mrs. Shirley Brown, Mrs. Helen (John) Vanderbur, a son Gary (Linda) Hash, 14 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and six sisters.
Bill will be greatly missed by his entire family. Visitation at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, 302 N Franklin St, Greensburg, IN, will be held Sat, Feb. 16, 2019 from 11:00 to 1:00 with a service at 1:00 officiated by grandson, Jay Vanderbur.
