Wildcats hammer Hagerstown for 14th straight win, SEIclones second in Bloomington

Catching up from some boys basketball reported results from Saturday, Franklin County’s varsity crushed Hagerstown 70-38 for its 14th consecutive win.  The Brookville boys hit 63 percent from the field.

Brant Ertle led the Cats with 17 points.  Chad Cox collected 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists while Bridger Bolos booked 10 points and six dishes.

The SEIclones, a local eighth grade travel boys basketball team finished second this past weekend at the Btown Showdown in Bloomington.

During pool play, the Clones defeated eventual champion Tri-North 48-46 on a bucket by Nick Watterson with three seconds left.  They also downed Bloomington Blaze Blue 43-31.

In semifinal play as the one seed, the SEIclones edged Bloomington Blaze White 40-39.  Watterson and Shay Hollendonner led the team with 14 and 13 points respectively.

The locals fell in the finals 43-37 in the finals to Tri-North of Bloomington who had the hot hand from deep making eight triples.  Hollendonner’s 19 points were a team-high for the Clones.
