Sophomore Brant Ertel threw a complete game no-hitter with 10 strikeouts in Saturday’s 4-1 win at South Dearborn. The lone run got on base thanks to a catcher’s interference call.
Offensively, FC was led by Ertel with 3 hits including a double, Joe Fields with 2 hits including a triple and Remy Watters knocking in 2 RBI’s.
In a back and forth game, FC came out on top of #1 Oldenburg 9-8 on Friday Night, April 30th.
FC scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th thanks to the game-winning run coming on a Kristian Prows hit-by-pitch with bases loaded and 2 outs in a tied game.
The Wildcats are now 10-5 (4-4 in EIAC). FC will travel to Greensburg Monday before hosting Northeastern on Wednesday and Greensburg on Thursday.
