Wildcats Baseball Results

Franklin County started game 1 of a doubleheader on Saturday with an impressive 15-2 win over The Union County Patriots.

FC jumped out to an early lead thanks to a 6 run first inning and 15 total hits in the game. Brant Ertel led the way offensively with a 4-4 game with 4 doubles and 3 runs scored. Dominic Reeves also had 3 hits to go with 3 RBI’s. Joe Fields came around to scored 3 times as well with 2 stolen bases.

Garrison Siedling pitched all 5 innings giving up just 2 runs on the mound to earn the win. 

Franklin County completed the sweep of a doubleheader, winning game 2 over Union County 7-1 on Saturday.

FC used the duo of starter Brady Brandenburg, 4 innings and 0 runs, and reliever Conner Roleson, 3 innings 1 run, to hold the visiting team’s offense down.

Remy Watters and Joe Fields each led FC with 2 hits each. Fields also had 2 RBI’s. Watters and Brant Ertel each came across to score 2 runs in the game.

FC will travel to Batesville Monday night. Varsity will play at Liberty Field at 5:30 while the JV will play at the high school at 5:30. 

Franklin County dropped a conference road game to Connersville on Thursday, 8-1.

While FC hit the ball hard throughout the first part of the game, the Spartan defense was well-positioned and led to offensive struggles for FC.

The Wildcats are now 5-2 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
