Wilbur Jackson Jr, age 68 of Oldenburg, died Monday, March 28, 2016 at Margaret Mary Health. Born June 21, 1947 in Hamilton, Ohio, he is the son of Juanita (Nee: Johnson) and Wilbur Jackson Sr. He served in the army during the Vietnam war and after the service became a welder. Although a welder by trade, he was a jack of all trades that could fix most anything.
In his free time Wilbur loved being outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. He’d recently built hot boxes for the family and helped grow 50 tomato plants which were either canned or turned into juice. Several years ago he took in a stray kitten he named Frisky. They immediately bonded and became best buddies. Wilbur didn’t own a television set, but enjoyed western movies and listening to talk radio. According to his daughter, he loved to cook and by all accounts made the best homemade salsa. He also liked traveling the country sightseeing and had a knack for making each trip an adventure.
He is survived by his daughter Juanita Jackson of Poynette, Wisconsin; sister Sandra Loza of Camp Verde, Arizona; brother Lee Roy Jackson of New River, Arizona and his granddaughter Katherine Jackson. He is preceded in death by his parents. Wilbur’s wishes were to be cremated. The family will hold a reception at a later date.
