Elrod, IN — Wheelock Lake Campgrounds, formerly Browning Campgrounds, has a lot to celebrate. Since the announcement of new ownership in October, lots of needed improvements have taken place including a new entrance sign, grounds clean-up, a new metal roof for the office and restaurant building, and over 40 containers of trash hauled out.
They will be hosting a soft opening this Saturday, March 13. It is a free event for camp members, veterans, and local first responders only. There will be live music starting at noon through 4 pm, food, and flag retirement and raising ceremonies that starts at 2:30 pm. All attendees are welcome to bring an old flag to retire as well.
