West Harrison man arrested after device explodes in home

WEST HARRISON, Ind. — A West Harrison man has been arrested after an explosion came from his home.

According to Police, Bradley Back, 29, is facing charges of Possession of a Destructive Device or Explosive, two counts of Manufacturing a Destructive Device, and Criminal Recklessness.

Police say crews were called to Back’s residence after neighbors heard an explosion.

Fire crews cleared the home and noticed the walls had been blown out over 5 inches from the pressure.

Police determined the explosion came from a homemade explosive device with the capability to hold shrapnel.

Investigators discovered that Back and his girlfriend recently broke up and the device may have been inside of a gift bag.

The terms “SUV fuel line” and “mafia hit” were found in Back’s online search history.

Bond was set at $500,000 surety and $250,000 cash.
