(Southeastern IN) – Strong to severe storms rolled through the area Thursday afternoon, leaving behind fallen trees and power lines.
A number of people around the area were left in the dark as a result, with restoration efforts continuing into Friday morning.
One of the casualties of the weather was the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s performance at Bill Gillespie Soccer Park in Batesville.
The crowd started gathering an hour before the scheduled 8 pm show (pictured), which was put on hold due to the wet conditions.
Off-and-on showers, wet conditions, and the sensitivity of musical instruments led to the decision to cancel the ISO performance but the scheduled fireworks show went off at dark.
This was the opposite of the originally announced Plan B, which called for an abbreviated concert and canceled fireworks display.
