Vevay IN—Sunday evening deputies with the Switzerland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal accident on State Road 156 near Tapps Ridge Road.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered two vehicles involved in the accident: A 2004 Ford Explorer driven by Scott R. Griffin, 37, of Vevay and a 2001 Buick Century driven by Scott P. Hilligoos, age 28, of Vevay.
Hilligoss was pronounced deceased at the scene while Griffin was transported to King’s Daughter’s Hospital for treatment of injuries. The cause of the accident remains under investigation but weather and road conditions are believed to be factors.
