Columbus, IN — A Freetown man who had an active warrant for his arrest was taken into custody after a foot chase with CPD officers on Friday afternoon.
Columbus police officers responded to a residence on Indiana Court in regards to a report of a suspicious person wearing dark clothing. When officers arrived, they observed a man, later identified as Donovan A. Martin, 23, of Freetown, who began running after officers attempted to make contact with him. Martin jumped a couple of residential fences and was located hiding under a vehicle a few blocks away, where he was placed under arrest.
Officers confirmed a local warrant for Martin’s arrest and also located drug paraphernalia while searching his clothing. Martin was charged on allegations of Bartholomew County Warrant, Resisting Law Enforcement, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
