A former Franklin County Jailer will spend the next 16 years in federal prison.
Derek Walton, 31, of Liberty, was pleaded guilty in April to two counts of child exploitation. He was also fined $5,000 and will be on lifetime supervised release once the sentence is complete.
A federal prison sentence requires 85 percent of the sentence to be served.
Walton was arrested after federal agents raided his Union County home in August 2013. Investigators said they found electronic evidence including thumb drive hidden behind a mirror and a video camera during the raid along with sexually explicit photographs of a minor female.
Walton was accused of exchanging emails containing explicit photographs with another account. One email account was even accessed from the Franklin County Security Center, according to investigators.
