Vote Center plan clears another hurdle

DECATUR COUNTY, IN — Decatur County Commissioners have approved the vote center plan.

Commissioners tabled the plan last month over concerns that the voting centers would eventually be in one centralized location, such as Greensburg.

The proposal calls for the county to move away from precinct-based election polls and replace them with 11 vote centers around the county.

Since both commissioners and Decatur County Council have approved the proposal, it now goes to the County Election Board for consideration.

If the Election Board gives it the green light, the plan would go to the State for final approval.
