Virgil Francis Moorman, age 90, of Sunman, Indiana, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 7th, 2022.
Virgil was born on October 19th, 1932, in Connersville, IN to Otto & Mary Leona Moorman (nee Laker).
When he was a young man, Virgil enlisted and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Virg was a dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service, where he was a letter carrier for over 25 years, before retiring in 1987.
Virgil married Patricia Braun on February 10, 1962. Together they created a home and were blessed with 5 children. For Virg and Pat, family was everything. As their children grew into adults, their family continued to expand. All the while, many remained close, centered around their family farm in Sunman.
After his retirement, Virg and Pat traveled around the world. Often, they would get in their car and drive for multiple weeks at a time. Virgil always looked forward to playing cards, especially with his family at their weekly Sunday gatherings. 500 and pinochle were his favorites, playing with his children and grandchildren. Virgil was a quiet man, often times he would just sit back and watch as his grandchildren and great grandchildren played on their Sunday visits.
