Violet June Vanosdol, 89, of Versailles passed away at 11:55pm, Monday, April 17, 2023 at the Waters of Batesville. She was born near Friendship on December 13, 1933, the daughter of William Walter and Florence Leona Peaslee Clarkson. She was married to Ralph Vanosdol on November 9, 1957 and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2011. Survivors include two sons Keith Vanosdol of Versailles and Ron (Jane) Vanosdol of Terre Haute; one grandson Noah Alexander Vanosdol also of Terre Haute. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her sister Dorothy Bruce. Mrs. Vanosdol was a 1953 graduate of Cross Plains High School. She was a homemaker and a former employee of the Delaney Wood Heel Factory in Versailles. She enjoyed doing puzzles and tending to her flowers and her garden. Violet had been a member of the Shelby Christian Church for over 60 years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 1pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Randy Thieman officiating. Burial will be in the Shelby Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Saturday beginning at 11am. Memorials may be given to the Shelby Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
