(Batesville, IN) – State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg) gave an overview of the just concluded Indiana General Assembly session during the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Lunch and Learn Thursday at Ivy Tech Community College Batesville Campus.

In addition to reviewing the two-year, $44.5 Billion state budget and other legislation considered during the session, Leising fielded questions from those in attendance.

“I think it was very helpful to me to hear what was on the mind of the people attending,” she said.

Leising was the only local lawmaker at the event because two area state representatives who were scheduled to appear were not able to do so.

State Rep. Randy Frye (R-Greensburg) is recovering from knee surgery and fellow State Rep Lindsay Patterson (R-Brookville) is out of the country.
