(Versailles, IN) – The Busching Covered Bridge Connector Trail from Versailles State Park to the town is taking shape.

Striping along the braided trail was completed late last week.

The trail crosses Laughery Creek at the covered bridge, follows County Road 25 South and cuts into the woods to Waterworks Road.

The trail project was a collaborative effort between the Town of Versailles, Ripley County Commissioners and the county highway department, the state park, Main Street Versailles and the Versailles State Park Mountain Bikers.

The coalition leveraged a Next Level Trails grant from the State of Indiana as part of their efforts.

The town was recently awarded an Indiana Department of Health Biking and Pedestrian Improvements Grant, which will be used to identify opportunities for more trails and sidewalk upgrades.
