Versailles, In. — A Versailles man has been sentenced in connection with a theft case at the Laundromat in Milan. Colton Disbro, 29, was sentenced to 14 ½ years with one to be served on home detention.
Disbro admitted taking $750 worth of jewelry from multiple victims while they were doing laundry. Detectives found multiple pieces of jewelry in a trash can at the scene.
During the investigation, police determined that Disbro was on probation at the time of the crime. Disbro was facing sanctions for charges of dealing in cocaine, possession of narcotics, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a syringe.
Ripley County prosecutor Ric Hertel said, “The Defendant’s criminal conduct combined with his extensive criminal history warranted an aggravated sentence, and Judge Sharp saw fit to sentence him accordingly.” Hertel went on to say, “the sheer number of crimes committed over the last decade is staggering.” Hertel also wanted to compliment the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office for their thorough and complete investigation.
