ELROD, IN — A Versailles man was flown to the hospital after his tractor-trailer crash on US 50 east of Elrod shortly before 5 pm Sunday.
The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office says 57-year-old Robert J. Kappes lost control of his semi, which landed in a field and flipped on its side.
Kappes suffered a head injury and was taken by helicopter to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment.
Assisting at the scene were the Versailles Police Department, the Milan Fire Department, Ripley County Emergency Medical Services, Indiana StatFlight, and Todd’s Wrecker Service.
