Versailles investigator honored for longevity

Versailles, In. — Indiana State Police have honored Sgt. Martin Mead for 30-years of service with the department. Mead was promoted from master trooper to crime scene investigator in May of 20148.

Mead graduated in 1985 from the Salem High School and was a student at Indiana University Southeast. In 1988 he was hired to work at the weigh scales in  Seymour and in 1991 he was hired as an Indiana State Police trooper. He served in Lowell District initially and transferred to the Seymour Post in 1994. When the Seymour Post closed he was transferred to Versailles and has served there since.

Mead has served as a field training officer, member of the Tactical Intervention Team, Methamphetamine Suppression Team and has made the Top 20 Pistol Shooters in the agency.
