Verda Mae Holliday – Sunman

Verda Mae Holliday, of Sunman, was born on August 3, 1927 in Booneville, Kentucky, a daughter to Steve and Elizabeth McIntosh Burns.  She married John Holliday on October 2,
1948 in Lawrenceburg.  In her later years, Verda fulfilled a life-long dream of finishing school when she became a licensed cosmetologist.  She was an active member of Dearborn Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and gardening and was a very good guitar player.  On Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the age of 91, Verda passed away at Woodland Hills Care Center in Lawrenceburg.

Those surviving who will cherish Verda’s memory include 2 daughters, and 2 granddaughters.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Holliday on June 17, 2018; an infant daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth, and 6 siblings, Sherman, Roy, Leslie, Colburn, Fayette, and Effie.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Cook
Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home and burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
