(Indianapolis, IN) – The Presidential disaster declaration for counties impacted by last month’s severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding allows the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) to extend emergency credit through emergency loans to impacted producers recovering from the weather event.
The loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including the replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or to refinance certain debts.
Dearborn, Decatur and Franklin are among 21 primary counties eligible for the loans; Ripley County is one of the contiguous eligible counties.
FSA will review the loans based on the extent of losses, security available, and repayment ability.
The deadline to apply is April 26, 2027.
