Uptick in COVID-19 cases continues across the state

Indianapolis, IN — The Indiana Department of Health announced Thursday that 878 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19. More than 700 cases had been reported each of the previous two days.

The total number of Indiana residents now known to have had the coronavirus now stands at 763,688. To date, 13,535 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of one from the previous day.

Locally, Ripley and Decatur counties each had one new case; Franklin County reported three new cases, and Dearborn County had six cases. There were no new deaths reported in any of our four area counties.

The Indiana Department of Health says 2.9 million Hoosiers are fully vaccinated.
