UPDATED GRAVESIDE SERVICE
Thomas “Tom” Lee Nelson Jr., 70, of Sunman passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, Kentucky. Tom was born on Saturday, May 19, 1951 in Hamilton County, Ohio; son of Thomas and Bonnie (Leab) Nelson Sr. Tom worked for Busch Gardens and Kings Island doing maintenance, and most recently for Pri-Pak in the maintenance department. Tom enjoyed tinkering around, fishing, bowling, and playing pool. His greatest passion in life was his grandchildren and family events.
Tom will be missed by his mother Bertha Gerike of Milford, Ohio; children Thomas (Lori) Nelson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Tonia Bevis of Sunman, Indiana, Penny Mitchell of Ohio, and Robert (Barb) Nelson of Guilford, Indiana; sister Debbie Catoe of Ohio; Barbara Nelson of Colerain, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bonnie, fiancé Mary Addison and stepfather Dallas Gerike.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. A public graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, State Road 350, Aurora, IN 47001.
