Mary Louise (Fravel) Danzey passed away at the age of 78 at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Mary was born on Sunday, April 23, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio; daughter of Lee Howard and Katherine (Hicklen) Fravel. She married Richard Danzey on July 13, 1968 and he preceded on August 2, 2010. Mary began her education at Cincinnati Bible Seminary, then graduated from University of Cincinnati and completed her master’s degree at Indiana University. Mary was a 4th grade teacher at Sunman Elementary School for 33 years. She was a founding member of the Southeastern Indiana YMCA and was a member of the Southeastern Indiana YMCA book club. Mary enjoyed reading, gardening, and doing paper crafting such as cards. She and her sister enjoyed drinking a variety of wines and traveling together.
Mary will be missed by her brother Jack Fravel of Columbus, Ohio, and sister Frances (Ted) Fravel Lane. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Katherine Fravel and husband Richard Danzey.
Family and friends may gather for a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the Southeastern Indiana YMCA in Batesville: 30 IN-129 S, Batesville, IN 47006. Memorials may be given in honor of Mary to the Southeastern Indiana YMCA.
