Delphi, IN — A 50-year-old Delphi man has been charged with two counts of murder in the February 2017 deaths of Abby Williams and Libby German.

Richard Allen was taken into custody last Wednesday by detectives with the Delphi Double Homicide Task Force at the Indiana State Police Lafayette Post, then transported to the Carroll County Jail.

The two girls disappeared while walking a trail on February 13, 2017.

Their bodies were found the next day.

Shortly after, Indiana State Police and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office created the Delphi Double Homicide Task Force, which encompassed federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

Allen was formally charged on the two murder counts on Friday and taken to the White County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond.

Agencies involved in the investigation included ISP, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the Delphi Police Department, the Carroll County Prosecutor’s office, the United States Marshals Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and a number of other federal and local agencies.

Authorities say this remains an active and ongoing investigation, and that no additional information will be released right now.
