Unemployment down in two area counties, holds steady in the others

(Southeastern IN) – Unemployment dropped slightly in two area counties in October but held steady in the others.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says Decatur County stood at 2.7 percent, which was down from 2.6 in September.

Dearborn County checked in at 3.1 percent, which was a drop from 3.3 the month prior.

Meanwhile, Franklin County remained at 3 percent while Ripley County was at 3.4.

All four counties were below the state average of 3.6 percent.
