Two face drug charges after missing person probe

Laurel, In. — A missing person investigation resulted in the arrest of two people and the seizure of eight ounces of marijuana.

On August 20 the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department began looking for Brandi Wall, 49, of Laurel, who had been missing for more than a day. The investigation led police to the home of Daryl Murrell, 54, in the 200 block of Commerce Street in Laurel where Wall was located. When Murrell became combative with officers they requested, and were granted a search warrant.

During the search police found eight ounces of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

Murrell has been charged with dealing in marijuana, possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance, disorderly conduct, battery on a police officer, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction. Wall has been charged with dealing in marijuana, possession of marijuana, visiting a common nuisance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. Both were taken to the Franklin County Security Center.
