Columbus, In. — Indiana State Police have announced two arrests have been made in connection with a drug-related death at the Bartholomew County Jail.
Debin Paige Gabbard, 27, of Columbus, has been charged with dealing in methamphetamine, trafficking with an inmate, possession of narcotics and possession of methamphetamine. Mary L. Snyder, 19, of Columbus, has been charged with possession of methamphetamine.
The police report says Gabbard smuggled the drug into the jail in October of 2017 and gave it to Snyder. Snyder passed the methamphetamine to Angela Blair, 45, who died after ingesting the substance.
After Blair collapsed an ambulance was called and immediate medical aid was rendered. Attempts to revive Blair were unsuccessful.
Blair has been serving a sentence for a probation violation relating to another drug charge.
