Two arrests made in Rising Sun stolen vehicle case

DEARBORN/OHIO COUNTIES, IN — Several agencies played a part in the arrest of two people following a multi-county police chase.

It all began when a 2016 Buick passenger car was stolen from a gas station and convenience store in Rising Sun Tuesday around 3:43 pm.

Aurora Police officers spotted the vehicle a few minutes later on eastbound US 50.

The officers tried to stop the car on Tanners Creek Drive in Lawrenceburg. Investigators say the car then pulled into a pizza restaurant parking lot and the driver fled on foot into a wooded area near the Lawrenceburg Post Office.

The passenger, 37-year-old Kelli Studenka, was immediately arrested.

After an extensive search of the woods and several bodies of water, an Ohio County Sheriff’s deputy spotted the driver in the wooded area near a farm supply store.

Police say the driver, 38-year-old Bradley Rabbitt, was arrested after a short foot chase.

Charges are pending against Rabbit and Studenka in Ohio and Dearborn counties.

Both suspects are from Cincinnati.

The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office; the Aurora, Lawrenceburg, and Rising Sun Police police departments; the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office; Indiana Conservation Officers; Lawrenceburg Fire and EMS, and the Dearborn County Emergency Management Agency responded and provided assistance at the scene.
