Twisters Tame Tigers On The Diamond

The Oldenburg Academy Baseball team was on the right side of history last night (April 7th) when they traveled to Lawrenceburg winning 12-1. The Twister baseball program has never run-ruled the Tigers in the program’s history, until last night.

The Twisters jumped out to an early 2-0 as senior Chris Hautman doubled in 2 runs. The Tigers cut the lead in half in the bottom of the 1st with a solo home run. That would be the Tigers only run and hit for the entire game. The Twisters broke the game open in the 4th where they put up 10 runs. Senior Andrew Oesterling hit a 3-run home run in the 4th. This was Oesterling’s first home run of the year.

On the mound, Hautman got the start and the win. He pitched 2 innings, give up 1 run (earned), on 1 hit, 1 strikeout, and issuing zero walks. Oesterling was in relief and pitched 3 innings, given up 0 runs, 0 hits, striking out 5, and only walking 2 batters.

The Twisters improve to 3-0 on the season. They have scored 32 runs while only allowing just 1 earned run in these contests. “It always nice to get a win, but this was a huge win for this team and the OA baseball program. We hit the ball hard all over the field, our pitching was fantastic, and our defense made some great plays.” Coach Behlmer said after the game.

The Twisters will look to keep the winning streak going as they travel to Rising Sun on Friday, April 9th for a 5:30 start time.
