Twisters Breeze By CCL Golden Eagles

The Oldenburg Academy Twisters welcomed the Golden Eagles of Cambridge City Lincoln to Liberty Park on Wednesday, April 14th, winning 11-4.

The Twisters got off to a hot start scoring 4 in the first frame. But the Golden Eagles came storming back scoring 3 in the 2nd. The Twisters would score some insurance runs in the 5th and win the game 11-4.

Leading the way for the Twisters was senior Patrick Thompson who went 2 fo 3 with 2 RBIs and 1 walk. On the mound, Riley Schebler got the start and went 1 1/3, striking out 2, walking 2, hitting 3, giving up 3 runs (2 earned). In relief was Soph. Charlie Schebler went 4 2/3, striking out 10, issuing 1 walk, 1 earned run, and giving up just 1 hit, and earning the win. Soph. Trevor Moizuk pitched a scoreless 7th to shut the door.

“It was nice to get some momentum going into a very challenging weekend. We have some things we need to smooth out if we want to achieve our ultimate goal.” Coach Behlmer said.

The challenging weekend he is referring to is when the Twisters travel to South Dearborn to first take on the #7 Spartans of Southwestern Shelbyville (12:00) and conclude the day against the host team, South Dearborn Knights (2:00)
