Twisters Baseball Team Wins Season Opener Against Braves

The Oldenburg Academy Twisters baseball team got their first win of the 2021 season defeating the Braves of Indian Creek 7-3.

The Twisters started senior Chris Hautman who went 2 innings, gave up 1 run (unearned) on 0 hits while walking 3 and striking out 3. The ball was then handed off to senior Andrew Oesterling (1-0) who went 4 innings, giving up 2 runs (both unearned) on 1 hit, while striking out 8 and allowing zero walks. Senior Riley Schebler came in for the 7th and struck out 3, allowed 1 hit, and didn’t walk a batter. At the plate, the Twisters were led by sophomore Trevor Moizuk who was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Riley Schebler and junior Caleb Lehman also went 2 for 4 at the plate.

Coach Doug Behlmer had this to say after the game, “Nice couple of baseball games today, It was nice to win both games, but felt even better just getting back on the diamond again after long hiatus.” Obviously, the hiatus he is referring to is the cancellation of the 2020 Spring Season due to COVID-19.

The JV team played the nightcap of the DH and won 8-5.

The Twisters have a busy week and will be road warriors – they travel to Waldron (4/6), Lawrenceburg (4/7), Rising Sun (4/9), and a DH with Jac-Cen-Del (4/10).
