Batesville, IN — Two vacancies that came up on Batesville City Council earlier this month are now filled.

The Ripley County Republican Party held a caucus Monday night at the Batesville Memorial Building and chose Melissa Tucker to serve as the At-Large member, while Beth Enneking was selected to serve Council District 3.

Tucker replaces Bill Flannery, who stepped down because he is moving to Florida for part of the year.

She also serves as the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director.

Also in the running for the At-Large seat was local business owner Natasha Kellerman.

Enneking is the Trust Administrator and Marketing Manager for ClearPoint Federal Bank & Trust and replaces Jim Fritsch, who resigned after nine years on council.

Fritsch did not give a reason in his letter to party leaders.

Mayor Mike Bettice swore in both Tucker and Enneking after the caucus.

Their first council meeting will be on December 12.

Both unexpired terms end on January 1, 2024.
