New Point, In. — More details have been released regarding a semi-truck crash on I-74 in Franklin County Thursday.
Around 1:20 pm, a truck driven by Mark Steffey, 48, Of Indianapolis, was traveling eastbound near New Point when he drove off the south side of the roadway. The truck struck trees and caused the load of lumber to spill from the trailer and smash into the cab of the truck.
Once emergency workers found the cab of the truck Steffey had to be extricated. Steffey was flown to an Indianapolis hospital where it was determined his injures were not life-threatening.
The interstate was closed for several hours to conduct clean up.
