Traffic signal upgrades coming to Dearborn County

DEARBORN COUNTY, IN — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Michiana Contracting plans to begin work next week on a $740,000-plus contract to upgrade traffic signals at multiple locations along U.S. 50, State Road 56, and State Road 1 in Dearborn County.

Contract crews will replace signal heads and wiring between Greendale and Aurora.

Starting on or after Monday, July 11, drivers should watch for shoulder work during daytime hours.

Major traffic disruptions are not expected.

Beginning in early August, drivers can expect night operations, including intermittent lane restrictions and flagging as necessary.

The contract was awarded to Michiana last fall and has a completion date of October 30.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use caution and stay vigilant of crews and equipment when traveling through active construction zones.
