(Versailles, IN) – The Town of Versailles welcomed baseball tournaments back to the Tyson Memorial Sports Complex last weekend.
The facility hosted 20 teams from Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky.
Because of rainfall the week leading up to action on the diamonds, the town, Versailles Recreation Baseball/Softball and USSSA teamed up to get the fields ready for the two-day tournament.
The winners were:
- 10U – Franklin Youth Baseball
- 12U – Versailles Canes
- 14U – Marucci Prospects
Officials say the influx of out-of-town families attending the tourneys resulted in a shot in the arm for the local economy.
Versailles area restaurants and stores saw increased business and sales over the weekend, town officials said in a social media post.
