Today At The Track – Grand Prix Qualifying

14_GPIndpls_logo_RGBThe Month of May is underway at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This is the inaugural year for the Grand Prix of Indianapolis, which means more to do at the Track, and most importantly, more racing.

If you come out to the track today you’ll see some IndyCar practice laps this morning, and then qualifying for the USF2000, Pro Mazda, and Indy Lights. This afternoon the intense action starts with the IndyCar Qualifying for the Grand Prix starting at 2pm and going to 3:10pm. After that you’ll get to watch the Grand Prix of Indianapolis races for the USF2000, Pro Mazda, and Indy Lights Series.

It’s sure to be an exciting day at the track. Don’t let the rain stop you from coming out. During the Grand Prix the IndyCars have different tire options and can run in the rain. So long as the lightning and heavy downpours stay away, they’ll be on the track. The track is already proving to be  good challenge to the drivers. This morning we’ve seen Ryan Briscoe (currently ranked 16th in the series) run off track and into the mud. While we all hope we don’t see any more of that today, who knows what can happen in these 14 turns.
