(Milan, IN) – Tickets are still available for a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the release of Hoosiers.

The event celebrating the movie based on the 1954 Milan state basketball championship will be held on Saturday, November 7 in the Milan High School gym from 1 to 5 p.m. Doors will open at Noon.

Noel Houze with the Milan ’54 Hoosiers Museum board said on WRBI’s The Daily Pod that a screening of the motion picture released in 1986 will take place starting at 2 p.m.

“Following the movie, there’s going to be a panel discussion where at least two and possibly three of the players from the movie are going to be in attendance,” Houze said. “In addition to those, Angelo Pizzo, who was actually the screenwriter for the movie, has committed to attend, and David Anspaugh, who was the director, also plans to attend. And we’re hoping to get a few guys from the ’54 team.

Tickets cost $40 per person and can purchased online at milan54.org, or in-person at the Milan ’54 Hoosiers Museum at 201 W. Carr Street in Milan.

There is a $2.30 service charge if you buy your tickets online.
