Three State Troopers From Versailles Recognized

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana State Police (ISP) employees throughout the state were recognized Wednesday in Indianapolis. Three troopers are from the Versailles District.

Receiving awards are Master Trooper Ben Bastin, Trooper Matthew Simmons, and Master Motor Carrier Inspector Kimberly Hill.

Bastin was recognized as the Versailles District Trooper of the Year. The award is presented to the trooper at each district who has achieved outstanding performance in areas of traffic and criminal enforcement, case and crash investigation, and community service.

Bastin has served as an ISP Trooper since 1995.

Trooper Matt Simmons was recognized for efforts to curb intoxicated driving. In 2013, he was responsible for taking the keys from 72 drivers who were believed to be under the influence of alcohol.

Master Motor Carrier Inspector, Kimberly Hill was the recipient of the R. Ralph Reed Motor Carrier Inspector of the Year for 2013. She was appointed to the ISP in 1995 and fellow troopers describe her as honest, trustworthy, and can always be counted onto complete her duties.
