Three Batesville varsity baseball pitchers team up in shutout victory against North Decatur

Batesville varsity baseball defeated North Decatur 13-0 on Saturday as Jaiden Kuria, Alex Baumer, and Jackson Tracy combined to throw a shutout for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs secured the victory thanks to ten runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by Batesville was led by Cade Kaiser, Jack Grunkemeyer, Chris Lewis, Conner Drake, Eli Loichinger, and Kaiser, who all drove in runs.

A double by Nolan Burkhart in the first inning was a positive for the Chargers.

Kuria was the winning pitcher for Batesville. Kuria lasted two innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out two and walking one. Alex Baumer and Tracy entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Tyler Dean toed the rubber for North Decatur. The hurler surrendered 11 runs on six hits over one and one-third innings, striking out one. Ty Litmer threw three and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.

The Bulldogs racked up 11 hits in the game. Bohman led the Bulldogs in hits going 3-for-3 with 2 RBI.
