Thomas “Ralph” Junior Williamson, 81 of Milan, Indiana, beloved husband and best friend of Suzanne Williamson for 57 years, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved July 31, 2016. Thomas was born on Friday February 8, 1935 in Milan the son of Thomas and Norma (Vines) Williamson. He married the love of his life, Suzanne, on June 20, 1959 and she survives. He joined the United States Army, serving his county proudly as a member of the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment, (Blackhorse Regiment.) He served tours in Korea and Vietnam, and retired after 21 ½ years of distinguished service as a Sergeant First Class, from Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Ralph was a member of the Milan First Baptist Church and former cemetery board member and trustee of Craven Cemetery. He enjoyed gardening, working in the woods, traveling, helping out at the church social events and his electric trains.
He is survived by his devoted wife: Suzanne Williamson of Milan, and their three children: Shari (Tony) Pennington of Milan; Lisa Reese of Milan; and Terry (Fawn) Williamson of Sunman; Eight Grandchildren and seven Great-Grandchildren; a brother: Rick Williamson of Milan, and a sister Marilyn Johnson of Carlsbad, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Gary Williamson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday August 3, 2016 at 11AM at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan, with Pastor Harris Long officiating. Burial will follow in New Craven Cemetery south of Milan with full military honors by US Army Honor Guard of Ft. Knox, Ky and Milan American Legion Post #235.
