It’s important to support the Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience®, where else can you go to support your favorite teams, get in the game with your whole family and promote health and fitness at the same time. “We wanted to create a holistic family health and fitness experience that would be fun as well as informative with solid health and fitness information from our partners at Riley Children’s at IU Health,” said Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, president and CEO, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. “The entire experience is inspired by male and female sports legends from amateurs to pros. Because of that, we think it is a wonderful way to reach multiple generations. Even if you don’t play sports, you may be a sports fan and it’s a great way to engage the whole family and help them develop healthy habits together while learning about great sports legends.”

The experience combines rich sports history, physical fitness, and health education in a variety of family-fun, indoor and outdoor experiences. Families can run, drive, jump, putt, and play while learning how to stay happy, healthy, and safe. Walk along the Old National Bank Sports Legends Avenue of Champions to meet a legendary sports character, hear their story of greatness, and get coached in the drills and skills that helped them succeed. Imagine yourself in the shoes of that same sports legend, and start your story today.

During the winter months, the Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience outdoor areas are closed for the season, but General Admission tickets or memberships include the three indoor sports exhibits along with 5 floors of museum fun. The three indoor exhibits include: NAMOS (National Art Museum of Sport), The World of Sport and History of Hoops.
