Temporary signal planned on U.S. 52 for I-74 bridge painting in Dearborn County

Dearborn County, IN — Indiana Department of Transportation Contractor Eagle Painting Company is continuing work on a $1.3 million bridge rehabilitation and painting contract along I-74 in Dearborn and Decatur counties. Crews plan to begin work on I-74 over U.S. 52 (Exit 169) in Dearborn County next week.

On or after Wednesday, August 24, U.S. 52 will be reduced to one lane with temporary traffic signals to allow contract crews to paint steel elements of the I-74 bridges over U.S. 52.

Lane widths will be restricted to 10 feet on U.S. 52 while work is in progress.

Major traffic impacts are not expected on I-74.

The project is anticipated to be complete by mid-October.

Other locations on the contract include I-74 over Johnson Fork Road, I-74 over Whites Hill Road, I-74 over Trackville Road, State Road 46 over I-74 in Dearborn County, and New Point-Ross Road over I-74 in Decatur County.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones.
